This sunbird occurs in the Aldabra Group of Seychelles. The field guide treats it as Cinnyris abbotti but notes that some sources rank it as a subspecies of Souimanga Sunbird.
It is about 10 cm long. The male has a black belly and vent, a deep wine-red breast band, and bright yellow pectoral tufts. The female is darker overall, with duller yellow underparts and a black throat barred with buff.
It uses coastal scrub, light woodland, and thickets. The guide lists Assumption, Astove, and Cosmoledo in the Aldabra Group.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
