This tube-nosed bat was described in 2025. The study reports records from five Philippine islands, from Mindanao into the central islands.
In the Cebu type series, dorsal fur has gray-buff bases and reddish-brown tips; the throat and central underside vary from white to buff. The rounded ears have a notch along the rear edge.
It was recorded at 85–1,100 m in second-growth and regenerating forest, patches among crops, and disturbed old-growth forest. Most were caught in harp traps along trails.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
