Perrier’s sifaka is an arboreal lemur with a black coat. It is active by day in small groups and eats mainly leaves, along with flowers and fruit.
Dense, silky black fur covers the body except for the bare face and ears. The legs and tail are longer than the torso and arms.
It is diurnal and lives mainly in trees in small groups. It clings vertically to trunks and travels across the ground by hopping on its hind legs. Leaves are a main food, with flowers, fruit, and seeds also eaten.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
