The Horned Screamer is a large bird of freshwater wetlands in northern South America. A long, slender hornlike projection rises from its head.
The hornlike projection grows longer with age. Sharp, horny spurs occur on the wings, and the sexes look similar.
It feeds on grasses, sedges, and other wetland plants around freshwater and lowland vegetation.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
