The Wallcreeper walks over rock faces to search crevices for insects. It lives in mountains during breeding and moves to lower areas in winter.
In January 2012, a Wallcreeper in non-breeding plumage was watched for an extended time on a steep rock face beside the Siang River below Bomdo Village. Another individual was seen near Pangin at around 380 m in November 2015. Both were alone and described as relatively unafraid of people.
It probes crevices in cliffs and stone buildings for small insects. The red wing patches spread into view when it opens its wings.
It has a gray body, with red and black on the wings and white spots. The male has a black throat in breeding plumage, and appearance varies by sex and season.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
