This small opossum is recorded in Argentina. In examined specimens, belly fur ranges from white or cream to clay colored; the Argentine assessment lists forests, grasslands and wetlands among its preferred habitats.
Ventral fur in the examined specimens ranged from self-white or self-cream to clay colored. One subadult female had a small white patch on an otherwise clay-colored belly.
The SAREM assessment lists forest, grassland and wetland habitats as optimal and agricultural crops as suboptimal. It also reports a sugarcane-field collection site, which does not by itself demonstrate tolerance of farmland.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
