Meester's Mouse Shrew is a small shrew recorded in Zimbabwe's Eastern Highlands and on Mount Gorongosa in Mozambique. The Zimbabwean type specimens were collected in moist grassland.
The dorsal fur is brownish rather than blackish, the hindfeet are relatively pale, and the tail is bicoloured.
The type series from the Inyanga Mountains in Zimbabwe was collected in moist grassland, sometimes beside a dam or pine plantation, and not in forest. On Mount Gorongosa in Mozambique, the paper reports the species in moist montane forest and alpine meadows from 1,120 to 1,700 m.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
