This small tyrant flycatcher is endemic to Cocos Island off Costa Rica. It has greyish olive plumage and a relatively long bill, and forages in the rainforest canopy and subcanopy. A breeding study recorded hidden nests on outer branch tips.
About 13 cm long, it is greyish olive to dark brownish olive above, with a faint pale eyebrow, two wing-bars, pale yellowish underparts, and a rather long bill.
A study found four concealed cup nests on outer branch tips in the canopy or subcanopy.
Both adults fed young. The small sample, including a one-egg record, cannot establish the usual clutch size.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
