Percival’s Short-eared Trident Bat is very small, weighing about 4–5 g. Its three-pronged noseleaf is distinctive, and it has a sparse range in southern and central Africa.
The back and head are sandy brown, the underside is lighter, and dark markings surround the eyes. The rear of the noseleaf has three prongs; the ears are small and nearly round.
It produces high-frequency echolocation calls. A study of six bats measured a mean peak frequency of about 208 kHz. A museum researcher also recorded one bat flying around a tree near a cave roost.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
