The hirola is an antelope of dry grasslands in northeastern Kenya and adjacent areas. A white marking around the eyes resembles a mask, and it selectively grazes short grasses.
Its coat ranges from sandy brown to slate gray. It has white ears with black tips, a white tail, a white marking around the eyes, and horns in both sexes.
It selectively grazes short grasses and moves when grass becomes too tall or grazing conditions change. Feeding is most intense in the morning and evening.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
