This small rodent is known from the sandy Sahara in Algeria. A 2020 checklist reports only its type locality and notes that its taxonomic standing has been debated.
Head and body length is recorded as 74–78 mm, with a tail of about 115 mm.
The review places it in sandy desert habitat. It gives no detailed account of behavior or food.
