Its back and tail are chestnut-brown, with a pale eyebrow above a grey throat and chest. It lives in the highland forests of southern Venezuela and nearby areas.
Adults have a chestnut head and back, with narrow dark bars on the tail. A pale eyebrow contrasts with the brown crown, while the throat and chest are pale grey and the flanks are warmer brown.
It searches for food low in the undergrowth or on the ground, alone or in pairs, hopping across mossy rocks, fallen logs, and leaf litter. The detailed menu is unknown; invertebrates are thought to make up much of it.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
