A small shrew recorded along the Nile in Egypt, it can be recognized by its gray-brown back and two-toned tail.
Its back is gray-brown and its underside is paler gray. The tail has stiff hairs and differs in color between its base and tip.
In farmland, it has been found beneath stones, bricks, and clods of soil. Records also come from canal banks among grass and piles of cotton or corn stalks.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
