The lesser woolly bat has woolly fur and funnel-shaped ears. It occurs in sub-Saharan Africa and has been recorded near rivers.
Its fine, curled fur has a woolly texture and a pale underside. The ears are funnel-shaped.
It is nocturnal. The account says it is presumed to roost by day in abandoned weaver-bird nests, but presents this roost use as a belief rather than a confirmed observation.
