An Asian white-toothed shrew with a browner back and a sparsely haired tail. The current MDD lists China, India, Myanmar, and Vietnam in its range.
The dorsal fur is browner, and the tail is thinly haired with an indistinct color division.
A 2009 review reports two records from the moist Mizoram–Manipur–Kachin broadleaf-forest region of northeastern India and northern Myanmar. These are regional records, not a full habitat profile for the species.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
