The Mourning Warbler is a small warbler that breeds in North America and migrates through Central America to South America. Breeding males have a gray hood and black chest patch.
Its plumage includes olive, gray, and yellow. In breeding males, a distinct black patch extends from the throat onto the chest.
During breeding, it uses dense thickets in regrowing forests and similar habitats in North America, where it eats insects and spiders. In winter it uses lowland thickets and second-growth forest from southern Central America into northern South America.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
