Robert’s snow vole occurs in the Caucasus and the eastern Pontic Mountains of Turkey. It is recorded in humid forests along mountain streams.
Its back is brown and its underside smoky gray, with a fairly distinct boundary along the flanks. The tail is blackish above and gray below.
It is predominantly nocturnal, and nests have been reported between tree roots or under stones. It is reported to cross streams by jumping from stone to stone rather than swimming.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
