This cuckooshrike occurs in Australia. Breeding males show a sharp black-and-white pattern, and the species searches for insects in open woodland and scrub.
In breeding plumage, the male is black above and white below, with a broad white shoulder bar. Females and nonbreeding birds are browner and differ in pattern.
It uses open woodland, forest, scrub and semi-arid river corridors. It gleans insects from foliage and may sally out to catch them in the air.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
