The common tent-making bat chews leaf veins to create a resting place beneath a drooping leaf. It feeds mainly on fruit.
Its fur is dark greyish brown, with a narrow white line down the back and white lines above and below each eye. Its ears have yellow rims, and no external tail is visible.
It chews leaf veins beside the central rib, causing the leaf to fold down into a roosting tent. It eats mostly fruit and may also take pollen, nectar, and insects associated with flowers and fruit.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
