This thrush is known only from Guadalcanal in the Solomon Islands. In 2016, observers found it near the ground in wet montane forest; records remain few.
Observers described a small thrush with a very rounded head. The head and back looked deep grey-brown, contrasting in sunlight with warmer rufous-brown wings and rump.
An observed bird walked and foraged on the ground among leaf litter and beneath branches of a fallen tree in dense wet montane forest.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
