The Handsome Sunbird is a Philippine sunbird. Males have iridescent green on the head, while females have a yellow rump. A field study on Cebu recorded it taking nectar from forest mistletoe flowers.
Mann’s (2002) comparison, based chiefly on nominate bella, describes the male fore- and mid-crown as iridescent green, with a dark olive-green hind-crown and nape. The female comparison gives a green-olive back and yellow rump.
A paper published in 2026 reports Handsome Sunbirds visiting Cebu mistletoe flowers and feeding on nectar in Nug-as Forest, Cebu. These plant-focused observations do not measure the species’ whole diet.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
