The Slender-tailed Squirrel is a large squirrel of West African rainforests, with a long, slender tail that exceeds its head-body length.
Its body, head, and limbs are dark brown to brownish-black, without longitudinal stripes on the back or flanks. The slender, non-bushy tail is longer than the head-body and may have pale yellow or buff near the tip.
It is associated with moist primary rainforest, often near Raphia palms. One examined stomach contained Raphia palm husks, and the account suggests it may sometimes live on the ground.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
