This shrimp is known from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand.
In the females examined from southern Thailand, the rostrum curves slightly downwards, is broader near the middle and tapers towards the tip.
In southern Thailand, it inhabits streams and lowland rivers, living on aquatic vegetation along the banks.
In the observed living specimens, the body is slightly translucent with blue and cream stripes dorsally and dark spots throughout.
In the females examined from southern Thailand, the second leg is longer and more slender than the first.
