This rodent occurs in Yungas forest in southern Bolivia and northwestern Argentina. It is nocturnal and has a long tail with two distinct colors.
The back is brown to agouti, the underside pale ochre, and the long tail is bicolored.
It is nocturnal. The treatment only suggests that it may climb; that possibility is not treated here as confirmed behavior.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
