The Yellow-billed Lorikeet lives in the mountains of New Guinea, and its plumage varies between subspecies.
Adults of the nominate subspecies are mainly green, with red from the throat to the abdomen and a pale yellow bill. The other subspecies is generally paler, with green and yellow streaking on the cheeks.
It feeds on pollen, nectar, flowers, fruits and berries. It may forage in flowering trees alongside other parrots and also comes down to feed on annual weeds.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
