Adult males have laterally directed nostrils that do not protrude. Adult male fingertips are not expanded into discs. The dorsum of adult males is smooth. It occurs in rainforest. Active individuals were found in dense leaf litter; calling males were also found at dusk at sites with less dense leaf litter cover. It is recorded from Montagne d’Ambre National Park, northern Madagascar.
