The Nimba otter shrew is a tenrec known from the Nimba Mountains and Liberia's Putu Mountains. It lives a semi-aquatic life in forests beside mountain streams and wetlands.
It has a rounded body, relatively short legs and a long muscular tail. Robust whiskers around the muzzle help it search for prey.
It searches alone for prey at night near water. Its whiskers help detect underwater prey, and it catches crabs and other crustaceans, small fish and other small animals both in water and on land.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
