This small rodent lives in rocky habitats. Skeletal research links its long limbs to quick movement on open ground, including climbing and jumping, and concludes that it cannot dig burrows.
In captive pups, fur began to emerge around day five. By about day 20, grayish dorsal fur was changing to brown, and a tuft began to form at the tail tip.
A 2015 field study caught the species in rocky crevices in northeastern Iran. A later postcranial study linked its limb structure to fast terrestrial movement in open microhabitats, including climbing and jumping, and concluded that it cannot dig burrows.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
