The Sao Tome Grosbeak is a large finch found only on São Tomé Island. It has a large, powerful bill and rusty-brown plumage, and feeds on seeds in the forest canopy and understory.
About 18 cm long, it is a chunky finch with uniformly rusty-brown plumage, slightly darker on the head, wings, and tail, and a massive greyish-buff bill.
It is often in the canopy and is seen alone or in pairs. It comes into the forest understory to crush and eat seeds with its powerful bill.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
