This spider is known from buildings and forests in southern Africa; males have three dark lines underneath the abdomen.
The described Badplaas male has an ochre-yellow upper front body with distinct dark marks along the middle, sides and near the margins.
It has repeatedly been found in houses, garages and dark building corners, as well as wooded grassveld savanna and secondary highveld forest.
In December 2007, one female was collected in leaf litter in coastal forest at Bilene, Mozambique.
Its abdomen has a distinct dark dorsal pattern.
Its thigh and shin segments have dark rings near their ends. The sternum is brown with pale marks near the leg bases.
Among the examined specimens, the shin segment of the first leg was longer on average in females than in males.
Males have three dark lines on the underside of the abdomen.
