The buff-bellied brush-furred rat is a brush-furred rodent recorded in lowland tropical forests of Central Africa. A historical account reports forest localities at Medje and Irangi.
The 1975 description reports a medium to dark brown back, reddish or yellowish hair bases, a cinnamon-colored underside, and coarse dorsal fur.
The paper compares lowland rainforest records from Medje and Irangi and reports more records from secondary than primary forest. The examined specimens were described as feeding mainly on animal matter.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
