The Lagoa Santa Akodont is a small rodent with a prominent, pinkish area around its lips. Specimen records include southern Brazil and nearby Misiones in Argentina.
The area around the lips is prominent and pinkish. The thesis describes this as a characteristic feature of the species.
In one survey in Paraná, the species was rare and was caught only in pitfall traps. The captures came from early-successional vegetation dominated by introduced plants.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
