The Northern Shrike is a large shrike that catches small birds and animals with its hooked bill. It breeds in far northern North America, with some birds moving south for winter.
It has a gray back, pale underparts, a dark band through the eye, and a thick hooked bill.
It hunts small birds, mammals, and insects. It may impale extra prey on thorns or barbed wire.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
