Kerr's Atlantic Tree-rat is a spiny rodent known from Ubatuba in southeastern Brazil. Only three published specimens are known, and the taxon is retained provisionally pending further comparisons.
The dorsal pelage is spiny, reddish brown, and streaked with black. The underside is yellowish orange, and ventral hairs are usually gray at the base.
The type locality at Ubatuba is within broadleaf evergreen rainforest close to sea level. All three published specimens are from that single locality; no other natural-history information is reported.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
