This dasyurid marsupial lives in New Guinea. A black stripe from the nose along the back is a distinctive feature, and nests were recorded on Mount Dayman.
A broad black stripe runs from the head along the back; the ventral fur is described as cinnamon buff.
During a 1985 Mount Dayman expedition, adults and subadults were associated with nests. The recorded nests were loose leaf masses in underground chambers on a hillside in primary forest.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
