Adults are white with black wingtips. Compared with a Snow Goose, Ross's Goose has a shorter neck and a smaller, more triangular, mostly pink bill.
It breeds on dry Arctic tundra. During migration it feeds at wetlands and fields; in winter it forages in grasslands, fields, and wetlands, then roosts at lakes or reservoirs overnight.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
