In adult males, the dorsal skin is rough, with dense conical granules, tubercles and glandular folds. In adult males, the fingers lack webbing and lateral fringes. In adult males, the tympanum is distinct, rounded and slightly concave. During the survey of 31 May–1 June 2019 in Huanglianshan Nature Reserve, Yunnan, China, it was found along a drainage ditch beside a mountain road. The road was surrounded by broad-leaved forest at about 1930 m elevation and was not close to hill streams. It is known from the type locality in Huanglianshan Nature Reserve, Lyuchun County, Yunnan, China.
