Mionectes roraimae is recorded in the highlands around Sierra de Lema in southeastern Venezuela and adjacent parts of Guyana and northern Brazil. It was formerly treated as a subspecies of McConnell's Flycatcher; the South American Classification Committee supported treating the highland form as a separate species.
A 1921 specimen description reports orange-citrine on the rump, throat, and upper breast of the roraimae form, with yellow-ochre on the lower underparts. The specimen was described under the former subspecies name Mionectes macconnelli roraimae.
During display observations, birds used perches 2.5-7 m above the ground and were usually alone or in widely spaced pairs.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
