The Indus river dolphin is a freshwater dolphin of the Indus River system. A 2021 study treated it as a species separate from the related Ganges river dolphin.
It has a robust body, a long rostrum, large paddle-shaped pectoral flippers, a small dorsal fin, and a flexible neck.
It lives in the freshwater Indus system. The study describes no present-day gene flow between it and the Ganges river dolphin in the separate Ganges system.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
