The Brazilian yellow-toothed cavy is a caviid recorded in the Cerrado of central Brazil. Its species limits and range remain uncertain in the cited accounts.
It is described as similar to Galea spixii, with dark dorsal coloring extending from the eyes toward the nape.
A central Brazilian survey found three animals tentatively assigned to this species in rocky Cerrado. One female was pregnant with a single embryo in November.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
