The New Caledonian Goshawk is endemic to New Caledonia. It has a bluish-black head, wings, and back, a gray throat, and a white body below.
The head, wings, and back are bluish black; the throat is gray and the rest of the body is white.
It hunts birds, rats, and reptiles. It builds a thick nest of twigs and leaves high in a tree, and may reuse it for several years.
