The 1983 treatment describes very soft, shiny, dense fur, long slender hindfeet, and a tail that is blackish brown over its basal half and white over its distal half.
A field record recounted in a 2014 review reports a capture on the ground next to a fallen trunk in primary lowland evergreen rainforest at about 1,150 m. This is a single-site capture record.
