The White-tailed Jay is a large jay with striking white, blue, and black plumage. It searches forests and scrub in pairs or family groups from northwestern Peru into Ecuador.
It is mostly white, with blue on the back and central tail feathers. The head and front of the neck are black; the iris is pale yellow, and there is a white patch below the eye.
Pairs and family groups forage in semi-deciduous forest and tall scrub.
