The Canyon Deermouse is a small rodent of rocky, dry country. Its back can range from brown to gray, and it is active at night.
The back may be brown, black, golden brown, or gray, while the underside is usually white. The ears and tail have sparse fur; it also has large dark eyes and long whiskers.
It is nocturnal and forages among rocky sites and shrubs, which can provide cover. It may enter torpor when food or water is severely limited or during cold periods.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
