The Nubian Woodpecker lives in savanna woodland and scrub, where it searches bark for insects and other invertebrates. Its olive-brown back and sex-specific head patterns help identify it.
The olive-brown back has cream marks; the wings are barred white and the tail is barred brown. Males have a red head, while females have a black, white-speckled crown.
It uses savanna woodland and scrub and searches tree bark by day for insects and other invertebrates.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
