A long-tailed bat known from a few caves in northern New Caledonia. It feeds at night and roosts in caves by day.
Its back is grizzled grey-brown. A long, rat-like tail extends free from the small tail membrane, and its tongue is long enough to collect nectar.
It is nocturnal, roosting in caves by day and sometimes using hollow trees temporarily while foraging at night. Cave colonies of 200–300 bats have been reported.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
