A ground-moving babbler documented in the montane forests of northern Vietnam. The white areas of the plumage varied among the birds described in the field account.
One observed bird had white underparts; another had a white throat set off from a brown breast and belly. Specimens were described as brown overall with pale feather shafts.
In the Hoang Lien Son highlands, it was observed foraging on the ground in secondary forest beneath dense dwarf bamboo, turning leaf litter.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
