This large swallow flies over savanna and open woodland. It has rusty-red underparts and a pale throat, and is resident in much of its range.
The underparts are rusty red, the throat is buff, and a white area marks the leading edge beneath the wing.
Pairs use wooded savanna and nest in banks, termite mounds, or tree holes. Birds in the north may move with the wet season.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
