The Bamboo Antshrike is a bamboo specialist of southwestern Amazonia. Males are barred black and white, while females have orange-buff underparts.
Males have fine black-and-white bars and a long upright solid-black crest. Females have orange-buff underparts with light black bars only on the sides.
Researchers found it only in bamboo stands. It searched for insects high among dense bamboo leaves and fine branches, alone or in pairs and sometimes with mixed-species flocks.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
