This pigeon is endemic to the Philippines and occurs on the islands except Palawan. It eats fruit in the forest canopy, and several birds may gather at fruiting trees.
The sexes differ in back color: males have dark brown upper back and shoulder feathers, while females are grayish green there. Both show yellow-edged wing bars on a greenish-yellow body.
It uses forest and forest patches from lowlands to at least 1,000 m and feeds on fruit in the canopy. Groups may move to fruiting trees.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
